Flower Wedding Decorations – Ways To Save Money

Nothing reflects your personality and style more than flowers. Classic roses, wildflowers, delicate orchids, exotic birds of paradise … flower wedding decorations can set the whole tone of the event and they can also be one of the biggest budget breakers when planning a wedding. There are ways to save with your flowers and still look classy and elegant or whatever look you are hoping to achieve.

Stay in Season
If you are not paying for your wedding and want exotic posies not in season, by all means, blow someone else’s money. However, if you are paying for things yourself, stick with what is blooming in season. Your flower wedding decorations will be a lot cheaper if you choose seasonal blooms. Keep in mind that if you have to special order flowers normally not in season, they are not going to be as fresh as those that are, and therefore will not last as long.

Supplement and Stretch
Your flower arrangements for the wedding do not have to be chockfull of flowers. Sometimes, less can be more! Consider extra greenery or even berry stalks or herbs to fill out the arrangements. Ribbon and tulle can also jazz up any flower displays. You can save money and still have attractive flower wedding decorations. Another idea is to have someone in your wedding party transport the flowers from the church where the ceremony is held to the reception place. This way, you do not have to purchase as many decorations for the reception as the flowers are pulling double duty.

If you simply must have table centerpieces for your wedding, why not invest in some inexpensive terracotta pots and plant some seasonal blooms in your wedding colors or some lively greenery? These flower wedding decorations could spruce up the tables and then serve as a favor or gift to the guests. Just think of the money you can save when thinking logically about the flowers … that money could be better spent on something you should not compromise on like the photographer or your wedding dress.

What a super site. I am trying to help my daughter plan her wedding without it costing an arm and a leg! Great information, and I will certainly be trying the custom favors and she is keen on making herself a wedding scrapbook. thanks a bunch.
