One of the most special and most memorable days of your life is your wedding day, and you will want to make sure that all the mementos from the day can be kept to look back on in the future.  A great way of keeping your memories alive is with wedding scrapbooks, and you will be able to remember your wedding day and preserve all the memories.To start on your wedding scrapbook you will need to get your thoughts organized and plan what you want from your scrapbook.  For instance what period of time are you aiming to cover?  Are you intending to go back to when you first met?  Or start from your engagement and cover the wedding and honeymoon?  Or you may prefer to just concentrate on the actual wedding ceremony and the wedding reception. 

Once you have decided on your timeline then you need to think about a color scheme that will reflect both of you as a couple.  Whites and creams will always be a good choice for the paper boards, as these echo the simplicity and elegance of the actual wedding.  Some prefer to use black boards so that the paler colors of the wedding show up more.

When you make your wedding scrapbook, you do not need to be limited to just photos, you can also add in other items that mean something to you.  As an example you could include flower petals, a piece of the material  from your dress and your bridesmaids dresses.  Or how about some place cards, some confetti, an invitation, really anything that is going to give you a memory of your wedding day in the future can be included in your wedding scrapbook.

Then add the final touches like beads and borders which will give more life to the pictures and other mementos you have added to your wedding scrapbook.  You can easily locate many decorative materials in craft stores, book stores and of course the speciality scrapbook stores that are around.

Don’t forget that scrapbooking is meant to be fun, so don’t let it get you stressed.  Take your time over it, and create it when the mood strikes.  If you do is this way you will have a great wedding scrapbook that you can look back on with great joy and happiness over your future together.

If you are having trouble coming up with a theme, consider your hobbies, favorite memories or even where you are planning to honeymoon. These three ideas can lead you to a great theme. For instance, if you are planning to honeymoon in Hawaii or some other beach location, you can plan your wedding party decorations around the beach and ocean. Pretty seashells, flip flop coasters, grass skirts, mini tiki torches, bamboo placemats, exotic or brightly colored flowers, boats, surf boards and palm trees could all play into your decorations with a beach ocean theme.

Wedding party decorations could include bamboo plants, bamboo placemats, gourmet fortune cookies, elegant chopsticks, bamboo fans, round, colorful Chinese paper lanterns, Chinese takeout boxes filled with goodies, cherry blossoms, and even items with Chinese symbols that mean ‘happiness.’

The possibilities could be endless when it comes to wedding party decorations. The only things holding you back are likely budget and the fact there may be too many cool things to choose from! When in doubt, always follow the adage ‘less is more’ as there is nothing more unattractive as too much excess. You want people to be talking about your wedding in a positive “what a wonderful time” kind of way rather than “I can’t believe how wasteful they are with money.”

You can find a variety of sources in magazines, the internet and even the bookstore for your wedding checklist.  Naturally, your budget, theme and mood (informal vs. formal) for the wedding will likely dictate the type of checklist you need to use. Most of these checklists start months in advance – even up to a year – and include how to announce your engagement and even who will perform the official duties of the ceremony.

Besides your budget, one of the most important things on your wedding checklist will be finding your wedding dress as well as the accessories like shoes, jewelry, veil and gloves. Some weddings dresses have to be ordered and can take months to get in. Then, you have to schedule fittings and alterations into your checklist.

As a bride, in the final weeks leading to your ceremony, delegate, delegate, delegate! Make copies of your wedding checklist and let your mom, your future mother-in-law and best friend help you. Just highlight the tasks you want them to accomplish and have them report back to you so you can update the main checklist. If an outdoor wedding is what you have your heart set on, at least choose a picturesque spot which will allow you to spend as little of your budget as possible on decorations. A garden with plenty of greenery and flowers in full bloom is a plus, so you would need just a few outdoor wedding decorations to enhance the setting. Mini-palm trees and ficus are popular as well and add greenery and height to any decorative arrangement.

When you have an outdoor wedding with a spectacular setting as a backdrop, you won’t really need much in the way of outdoor wedding decorations. Just some ribbon, tulle and possibly balloons in the wedding colors to enhance the area are all you need.

Working out a wedding seating plan is nearly always going to be a dilema for the bride and groom during the days preceding the wedding.  Here are a few ideas as to how you can go about ensuring you have the perfect wedding seating plan!

Start with a final list of all invited guests who have accepted their invitations.  Then make a rough sketch of the layout of the reception venue making sure you mark on the sketch the postions of the podium, the cake table, tables for the guests, the head table, a table for the guest book, a table for collecting the gifts received and the stand for the DJ or the dance floor (if you have made one at your chosen venue).   Always remember to ask your catering service manager or your wedding planner for their advice, as they will undoubtedley have faced the same problems several times.

The traditional wedding seating plan consists of a head table that is placed in a prominent position. At the head table would be seated the bride and the groom, with the Maid of Honor sitting on the groom’s left, and the Best Man sitting on the bride’s right. If you want to you can include more attendants on the head table, just make sure that the males and females are placed alternately in your seating plan.

The bridal couples can choose to sit at the ‘Sweetheart Table’ as well- this will make the head table look less cramped and give all sitting there more room. You can also include the parents of both the bride and the groom at the head table either as well as, or instead of the bridal party.

The guests should be allocated their own seating at the various tables.  You will be able to mark each guests place with a small place card on the table.  It is also a good idea to place a full seating plan near the entrance to the venue, making sure the tables are marked in some way, as this will help the guests to find their correct places quickly.

Both the bride and groom will need to work on the wedding seating plan together, as you will both know your own kin better.  When you are placing your guests, you will obviously want to keep families together and try and keep the balance of male and female guests right.  You won’t want to put Uncle Harry next to Uncle Fred if all they are going to do is argue all the time!

Once you have the seating plan organised, forget it, relax and start to look forward to your big day.

Setting up a menu that everyone agrees to is another important part of the wedding plan. Discuss it with your parents and to-be in-laws and everyone else involved. But do not fear the crowd.  A day of jostling and searching could lead you to finding your perfect inexpensive wedding dress. Now isn’t a little chaos worth it?

The stores normally advertise their sale, so keep your eyes open from a few weeks beforehand. Look up newspapers, TV Ads or billboards and notices to spy a sale. On the day of the sale, take a friend with (or more!) and reach at the venue before the sun does! Your inexpensive wedding dress does require a little hard work, but if you reach on time and manage to find the dress you can’t take your eyes off: the early hours and the crowd melt away.
